In first term of the first year, he was also coordinating research in Winny Maas studio at the Berlage Institute, with a focus on the Evolutionary city – future global urbanization. The studio collaborates with the PHD-Research program on this subject at the Technical University in Delft.
The studio WAS tutored by Winy Maas with Daniel Dekkers(software designer, Through Eindhoven) and Arjen van Susteren, Brent Batstra, Camilo Panilla, and Arthur van Bilsen(PHD students at the Technical University of Delft).

In the second term of the first year he was researching the Zuidas transportation node with Ben van Berkel and Caroline Bos with Olaf Gipser. In the studio we were investigating the contact strata between the platforms itself and the plinth development. The idea of extending the urban experience also to the underground parkings activated by tower cores and light - visual shafts, is bringing people down not only to park the car but also to enjoy the street impulse.

Participation in Practicing Tokyo@Ypembourg Masterclass at Berlage, tutored by
Yoshiharu Tsukamoto, ( BowWow Architect) 15-19 May 2006. Frame work was based on a question: Is it possible to make a city by the collectiveness of the individuality of housing without being based on a masterplan or standard housing units?
One should analyze the inbetween space of the neighbors, the phenomena of the living condition, natural environment such as lighting, shadow, air circulation, and the means of public use with a notion of emergence.
